Gamzee is alive and fondly regarding a new beginning at 00:00:00, so he probably isn't going to die here. Vriska is required alive in the future for potential sloppy makeouts* with John, and she is also free of Sollux' doom prophecy, having already died once during the adventure. Eridan... Eridan is basically fucked.

*Karkat wrote John and Dave a memo, where he told them to break it off with Vriska and Terezi respectively, as well as unveiling the SHIPPING CHART. He knew that both Terezi and Vriska had killed Dave once. Terezi only killed Dave minutes before the shit hit the fan, and Vriska killed him as part of his scheme to create Bec Noir. Thus, Karkat writes the memo after the whole murder thing blows over and his greatest worry is having to watch while the Scourge Sisters get their xenosmooch on. Thus, several trolls alive.

Didn't Vriska cause, through Courtyard Droll, the Draconian Dignitary to go to Dave's house and get the journals containing the codes to make Bec? And Dave died then. So there is that.

I'm currently making a nice room for my legendary clerk. I always treat my legendaries with the greatest respect, giving them the best rooms and so on. Although the walls are mostly engraved with pictures of my miner starving to death after he fell down a well, so it's not too cheerful.

Yes, exactly. In order to create Becquerel, and eventually Bec Noir. The only way I can see Karkat knowing about it is if Vriska tells him herself in the future.

On the other hand, Hussie might know we will guess that, and have him get killed quite anticlimactically. Or he knows that we know that he knows, and thus will let him survive, just to spite us.

... I'll dump the wine.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  There's a difference between subverting expectations to surprise your readership and fucking up your story.  Imagine if JK Rowling had Harry trip and crack his head open on the pavement halfway through the seventh book.

Hussie has never sullied a story in any way and you know it.
He is a God, A GOD!

For the update, oh damn it Gamzee's probable ancestor is terrifying.

Honestly I'm surprised no one has linked the Good, the Bad and the Ugly theme yet.

Gamzee looks mighty stylin' in those glasses and hat.
Somehow he pulls it off.

Now that's just rubbing salt in the wound. (But remember, Equius had both Nepeta's hat and the strongshades. Hussie might be counting on us not remembering that detail.)

It would be just like Hussie to give us this Uberpowerful Gamzee only to subvert it with Nepeta being immortal or something.
