I'm adding trolls to DF now.

Did you ever end up making a civ file for them?

Nope.  I should go ahead and do that, but it wouldn't take much.  I just wanted to beef it up a bit with stuff like sickles and... well, I don't remember what else.  The real problem will be the civ-positions, since I never figured out how to do that, and it'd be neat to hard-set the high leadership positions to only accept Aquatic Trolls.  Speaking of, if you're going to test it, you'll have to make a new FROND bodypart.  It's just a nonfunctional copy of the EAR bodypart, for those little facefin things.

More creatures would be good too, but any schmuck can do that.

Quote from: Wikipedia
The legend of Oude Rode Ogen began in the Flanders region of Belgium in the late 17th century after reports of children turned up missing and believed to be victims of a cannibalistic shape shifter. Witnesses claimed of seeing a large naked black man running away after trying to steal a young girl from her bed, he was shot at and seen to change into a large black dog. A homeless black man was soon found living near Nekkerspoel and without trial was lynched and skinned alive. The skin is said to be buried in the basement of St. Rumbold's Cathedral in Mechelen.

During the early 18th century till present a ghostly dark figure with fiery red eyes has been seen in Mechelen and surrounding areas. It is said that he seeks his skin to become whole again as the demonic figure he once was. During the 20th century the ghostly being became known as The Nikker (De Nekker or The Nigger), a story told to children that stayed up past their bedtime that they'd be eaten alive if they didn't go to sleep.

That's a really interesting snippet from history, but I don't quite get the relevance.

The Squiddles songs say that they'll be killed by Skipper Plumbthroat if they don't go to sleep.

Every folktale ever has had monsters made to scare children to do things, including going to bed on time. It isn't terribly unique.

Homestuck: The Animated Series

Hmm, I'd love this.

The main theme would be Showtime, right?

It's really too bad that there's nothing that can be done about the pesterlogs that doesn't either make them tedious or remove the original charm.

Unfortunately, using IMing as the primary means of communication between almost every character means that it'd be really difficult to translate them to any other medium except maybe a book (such as with PS). Even then, the flash animations pose a challenge. Though I suppose going the route of PS and having the flash animations displayed as a series of images would work (I think that's how they go anyway, haven't seen it myself).
