The grandson is half Jade and Half Eridan.  How this happens isn't explained until act 7.

Good riddance Eridan. I felt some mild sympathy for him after he got dumped, but he's been a prick throughout the entire adventure and shows little chance of changing. Therefore, he is perfect Bec Noir fodder.
