Maybe when a player dies and becomes their dreamself, the viewport switches the to the dreamself, since thats the new realself.

Where exactly does it state that, out of curiosity? Because I always thought Trollian just tracked the primary body preferentially, but that if that body was removed, it would track the awakened dreamself instead. I mean, the one case of Trollian viewing someone who had died where the window did not show the player was with Aradia, who never actually had a dreamself. She was a ghost, which is apparently different.

It can see dreamselves just fine, provided they aren't inside a dream.

Well, it's the date in a meta sense.  In-Universe, I think it's still the evening of April 13, 2009.

Alright, I think I understand. The name God Tiers is, to a degree, literal. You have to transcend your mortality before they can be reached. Which also means that the Quest "Bed" is more akin to a sacrifical slab, which also tend to be placed high up in Real Life. I still hate Vriska, however.

Something analogous probably happened with Vriska; she asked Tavros to kill her on her Quest Bed but he chickened out.

That would mean that she didn't die in Make Her Pay, but she probably wasn't going to last much longer anyway so it's not like it was that big of a deal.

Ah, so John didn't just get the regular dream-resurrection it seems. He got some kind of special resurrection where fireflies lifted him to the sky and he got some new clothes in a different color, and probably some superpowers. Well, more superpowers. Man, Vriska is so beating Terezi at this game.
