While I totally agree, and I hope Hussie finishes getting his jollies soon with this train of thought, let's think about this. Why did DD hang around Dave's place at just the right time, steal the Meow book, and throw it in the gene-splicer-thing pointed at a dog anyway? There never was a clear motivation for that rather bizarre chain of events. Jade's narcolepsy being Vriska's doing, given that Jade was introduced before Hussie even says the Trolls were defined as characters, is a total asspull that I think he did for shits and giggles. DD making Bec by Vriska's suggestion, he probably had that in mind at the time.
But if DD and CD and SS and HB wanted more power, why does AH have to force Vriska into the situation? Why not just let them do their own thing?
I honestly have no idea why DD was hanging out around Dave's apartment, but I don't think an alien manipulating him into creating Becquerel was anywhere near the original explanation.
How about this one: DD was investigating LOHAC, as the Dersian agents are sometimes want to do, and stumbled across the notebooks, killed Dave who was trying to get them back and figured they were important because of it. Because he's a smart dude he realized one of them was filled with genetic code and took it to a lab and created Becquerel.
Vriska does not need to be inserted into this situation after the fact.
