The omniscient thing was explained in Scratch's intro. First Guardians are only omnicient if the being the meow code was fused with is intelligent. Bec was made by combining the code with a dog, so he's not omniscient.

Bec is not omniscient since Halley was not a host of sufficient intelligence for the First Guardian genetic code to produce an omniscient being.

Doc Scratch is not truly omniscient, mind you, even with the code boost. It is worth keeping in mind that he is only nearly omniscient, and that he himself has commented on the gaps in his admittedly vast wealth of knowledge. I know several of us know that but omniscient and omnipotent have been thrown around enough recently (and not quite so recently) that I feel compelled to point it out again.

I don't know where Homestuck was when I first stumbled through it, but it was during the WEEK OF THE GREAT ROBOSMOOCH OF 2010 that I returned, I believe. This thread and a few people elsewhere got me back into it.
