Actually, I think you should adopt that anyway. Penguin seems to have abandoned it.

A  Problem Sleuth/ Midnight Crew/Felt game would be pretty bad ass. Multi-Player mode would have you picking teams for characters, like a PS team with Pickle Inspector, Ace Dick and Nervous Broad, or a felt team with Clover, Fin and Trace. If it was mainly PS it'd probably be sort of like Sam and Max, or a third person shooter with some puzzle elements, and all the other guys as secret campaign characters or unlockables.
