Vriska has actually gotten better, it's sort of like she's managed to shrug off or shy away from hate in my mind somehow. Probably because Tavros got his legs back and has been using them to fall down stairs, but her over all Manipulative Bitch thing is kind of going away, because Equius fixed it. He sort of worked for the auspice for the ashen relationships between Vriska, Ariadia, and Tavros.

I like both Equius and Vriska, but while I cannot explain why I like Vriska (mostly because I like villainous characters, really) I can explain why I like Equius.

It's the fact that, as twisted and deranged and... whacked as he is, he still has so many funny moments. His reactions to things like Aradia ordering him around, and his robots, and Karkat ordering him around....

It's hilarious to me.

Also, I feel like he's the type of typical tough guy who acts tough simply because he doesn't know how to properly connect with people, and so he pushes them away by acting like he only cares about his strength. Most of my evidence is that he tends to act in Nepeta's best interests, perhaps because she is his morality pet. But it may be because he can connect with her emotionally.

But that's getting into the WMG territory.

When I first read Hivebent I couldn't stand Equius or Gamzee.  Now I think Gamzee is awesome and my demeanour for Equius kind of oscillates between thinking he's funny and thinking he sucks.

anyways Equius is damn creepy but entirely acceptable as a character. I could stand having him live with me as a roomate, but not so much Vriska. Aradia would'nt be too good to hang around either and Nepeta annoys the hell out of me.
