I'm begining to think Rose's sanity has long since slipped away by this point.

You and me both, man.

As opposed to whenever it was that he did understand anything.  Although, when you read that whole log and remember just what the guy has been through, it's a momentous line, and rather inspiring in its way.  I can imagine John summoning up his best gruff leader voice to snarl it out.

TT: That's why you're our leader, John.
TT: Optimism through stalwart skepticism is a defect not everyone is lucky enough to be cursed with.

Good update.

Also, Rose is reminding me of Aradia. She's not being wry and sarcastic anymore. This bothers me.

Also also, I dislike her knowledge of everything. It should have been a revelation!

I guess it will be for Dave and Jade, though.

Well, I just remembered.  The last time John talked to Rose was before he landed in her house.  She was asleep - asleep merging with her doomed-future version, which was playing the game with Dave for months and all that.  So this Rose that John is talking to is post-future-merger and post-insanity-alchemizing.  So yeah, she is a little different and creepy.  Maybe John's unflinching idiocy will shock her back to her old self, although a SBAHJ reference didn't do it.

I don't think this bodes well.

Cool update, but Rose is pretty creepy all of a sudden. It's like she's psychic now; there's no way she learned all of that stuff just from poking around.

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

The last time we heard Rose talk (or write) was when she posted her final entry on her GameFAQs page. And she was much more... lively than this.

Yeah, she's turning into Aradia. I don't think she's quite as far gone as Aradia is yet, but it looks like she soon will be.

This is sad.

Well, seeing as Aradia is dead...

I just hope we don't switch over to Dave and find he's turned into an emotionally shattered wreck rocking back and forth surrounded by Bro's puppets while John was sleeping.

Nah, Dave will be his old cool self, staying cool in a hot world.  Maybe he'll talk some sense into Rose, contrary to whatever Davesprite wants to wring out of her.  The kids are actually a much more delicate group of personalities than we've usually acknowledged.  But Dave prevails.  Usually.

But Dave prevails.  Usually.

When he's not throwing his dead body out of windows. That shit shook him up. And apparently he was crying, too, or at least that's what Terezi said. No reason to believe that a cool dude like Dave would shed a tear for himself, though.

There's a reason those few pages stick out to me, and it's because nothing ever rattles Dave. To see him shook up with his own mortality was pretty interesting.

That house should not be able to stay up like that.

Dude. Video game.
