Although I'm not really sure if every one of these dead-end timelines is such because they failed to beat the Black King. All kinds of things could happen to render them unable to win. And every time that happens, Aradia fixes things and skips to the end to join the psi corps. That might have been what she was doing in [​S] Make her pay. For some reason, Vriska needed a sound beating at this point in the timeline, or it would lead to trouble later, so Aradia delivered. Possibly to wake her up. Or maybe she just felt like it.
