I got a completely different implication from that.  Which gives me the opportunity to officially recommend some blatant shipping fanfic (click on the image, then mouse-over for page-turning arrows).  Declines slightly toward the end, and there's a few real typos amid all the intentional ones, but it's about as accurate and worthwhile a read as accursed shipping-fic can be.

Nope. Karkat is the first troll to appear, on this page, way back when he was still just carcinoGeneticist. This is in the middle of Jade's introduction during Act 3, way back in Novemeber of last year.
