I think Skaia is pretty much the closest thing they have for a sun. And everything is pretty well lit everywhere, so it's doing a pretty great job at it.

Looking at Skaia only gives you future knowledge, though. Not blindness. Although it might metaphorically make you blind to things near you by making you focus too much on stable time loops and the distant future.

Pretty sure the trolls don't start trolling the kids until they the trolls are in the Veil, and have already "lost" their game. They haven't "lost" their game yet.
