Where do dream selves come from, anyway? Skaia probably retroactively spawns them somehow, but how and why? I guess Terezi's dream self could be blind because she later learned to deal with her blindness and doesn't really mind it, and in fact NEEDED the dream self to be blind so she could learn to smell and taste the colors. I bet Weird Time Shit is involved in some way or another.

There are two possibilities: Either Derse/Prospit/Skaia already exist, and merely don't become active until a species attains the intelligence (assured by the planet's First Guardian) required to create a game like Sgrub/Sburb, or the game sends a retroactive edit throughout history, making it so that it was always there. Option one has less mindfuck, Option two seems more like Lord English's kind of game.

You know, I did have a thought for how dream selves are divided.

Recall that John and Jade were on Prospit, while Rose and Dave were on Derse. Paradox clone siblings lumped together on the same planet. The same may be true for the Trolls as well.

Also, Terezi's dream self might have glasses just because Terezi likes wearing glasses at this point. Or something. I suppose Dream!Terezi could still be blind, but I wouldn't say it's certain just because she's still wearing glasses.

Their dream selves may have features compaired to how they think of themselves, and most consider themselves to be the same as their "real" selves. Terezi is blind, is fine with being blind, and considers herself blind. Aradia thinks of herself as dead, so no dream self exists. Sollux considers himself to really be two people, fiiting with the bipolar disorder he's said to have. Thus, he has a dream self on Prospit and a dream self on Derse.

How "siblings" work with the incestuous slurry method of reproduction trolls use is yet to be seen. It ought to be interesting.

We know dream Terezi is blind because when her lusus taught her to smell the colors in her dreams, her dream self slowly gained sight. You know, it almost looks like dream Terezi was ALWAYS blind, and eyesight was a temporary disability that real Terezi had to overcome to realize her destiny or whatever. Either that or she only woke up when she lost her sight.
