I also take issue with Erdian because I expected him to be some smug jerkass royal, and we get a whiny unsure-of-himself royal. He could indulge in the position just a little, and it would do some serious good.

I think I said the same thing like a month ago, but yeah, he totally is.  While this chatlog wasn't as in depth as I hoped it be, it delivers.

As long as we've got the poll to discuss it, I can't decide whether Eridan or Feferi was the bigger tool in that conversation.  I don't have any problem with Feferi breaking up with him; that happens.  But it's her reasoning that doesn't make sense, not from any universal "oh that's just mean" shit, from her own reasoning.  There's no more land vs sea, there's no more royalty, there's no more Alternia.  All there is now is the twelve of them, and she blows him off hard without a second thought or consideration, just hung up on the past.  Obviously though, timing is everything - entering the Medium is a proven bad time to discuss feelings.

I'm torn on Eridan, because it's actually got some legitimate feelings going on and with Alternia gone he has no other concerns either.  But just went about it all wrong.  Maybe after they all step back and chill for a while on a doomed asteroid things can work out.
