Cop out, that's what it is.  At least I can hope that it was Hussie trying to express the EMOTIONAL WEIGHT of what Eridan and Feferi were glubbing about, that they went out of their way to stop typing in ways that even other Trolls apparently find annoying.  And yet Gamzee implied it took a concious effort for him not to TyPe LiKe ThE BeAuTy Of LiFe CoMpElLeD hIm To.

My impression is, they type with their quirks naturally, but typing "normally" requires a concerted effort, like enunciating without an accent.

You forgot something. Troll blood hierarchy is kind of a big deal to them, and Karkat's is completely unique and human-blood-coloured.
