Yeah, the fact that Feferi's mom is an elder god means that Red Team is more hard core than we've previously thought.

Well, it depends on how the prototyping works. From what we've seen, it looks like they only take some feature of the creature that was prototyped and none of its powers. However, the queen will suppousedly take the powers of that Lusus, and if she does, man I dunno.

If just the form (and huge size? although the size doesn't seem to affect the imps since we've seen a spider-like imp and it was normal size) and possibly the personality gets transferred, then Red team will probably be okay.

Black Queen definitely won't be a problem despite the prototyping, because she refused to wear her ring after the frog prototyping.

It would cause physical changes in some of the underlings, giving them new properties. The question is which physical property will change; for example, when Jade prototyped Dave's crow, a number of basilisks took on the crowsprite's wings.

Also? Black King probably gets the full powers of the lusii.

"None of its powers"?  The Nannasprite, prototyped with the ashes of an old woman, gained the power to tear down Ogres with a laserbeam of pastries and a healing oven.  The Calsprite, prototyped with a ventriloquist's dummy, gained a laserbeam of puppet-ass and could transform into a giant plushie missile.  Lord English only knows what will happen when you chuck the corpse of a minor god into a Kernel.

I'm a little more concerned with the foreknowledge that all of the lusii will die.  Just what is going to kill that thing first, and what will happen when it does?

Actually, I suppose it will, exactly as advertised, release a psychic scream that kills all of Troll civilization in the galaxy.  Except for our erstwhile players, safely ensconced in another dimension.  Except the lusus has to die to be prototyped before Feferi can enter the Medium, and Sollux comes after her.  Maybe that's why Sollux is so obsessed with how he believes he'll die twice?  Intriguing.

In addition to the incredible powers the two monarchs already get, even from prototyping junk around John's and Rose's and Dave's house? Scary stuff.

But somehow the trolls manage to defeat the Black King anyway. Although there are probably... repercussions for doing so.

Given that one of the names for Gl'Golyb is THE RIFT'S CARBUNCLE, killing the Black King prototyped with Feferi's lusus probably causes The Rift that Karkat accuses John and the rest of the kids of creating.

This is assuming, Aqizzar, that the kernelsprites absorb the 'power' of whatever they're prototyped with in the first place, instead of just having a predetermined amount of power that's given a flavour of whatever they're prototyped with.

Maybe the death of Feferi's lusus is the disaster that wipes out Alternia, due to a horrendous wave of psychic feedback scrambling everyone's brains. I certainly haven't seen any meteors yet, so the equivalent must be the deaths of all of their lusii. Sure, it was the Mobius Double Reacharound that caused those deaths, but I can't see any other meteor-equivalent.

Also, I just realized that the fact that they're not being bombarded with meteors either means that Black King never managed to get White King's scepter, or their form of the Reckoning is quite different than what we've seen from the kids' session.

I was talking about the enemies, not the sprites themselves, but yea, I agree on the fact that nobody except Andrew Hussie really knows what is going to happen when that Lusus gets prototyped.

Still, I'm wondering as well just how the hell that thing dies.

@Josephus: Check one of Sollux's pages and you'll see meteors there. Also, Karkat said that Tavros was going to die, by a meteor I think, or maybe he didn't mention what it was.

There are tons of meteors. Just as much as rained down on Earth.

The Vast Glub might be the thing that wipes out the rest of Alternian civilization, however, because it's been a nagging issue how all the adult trolls, far removed from the meteors raining down on Alternia, are supposed to die.

Damnation. I didn't remember that page. Although in fairness, Sollux is the last entry, and he'd been sleeping for a while, which I suppose was enough time for Black King to kill White King and take his scepter.

Okay, but how does Sollux, who is the last to enter, escape death? UNLESS, the mind honey somehow protects him??

Anyways, http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004248 implies that Tavros was about to get obliberated by a meteor, or something.

Well, I'm not finished yet.

More meteors.
Even more meteors.
Yet more meteors.
It's like it's raining meteors all over Alternia.

And I think that may be every meteor sighting through all of Hivebent. They start raining down pretty much as soon as people start connecting to the game, just like in the kids' session.

Also, when the Black King takes the White King's scepter is mostly irrelevant in terms of when the meteors land on Alternia, through weird time crap.

Yeah, I figured. But I meant in-Medium, since they'd presumably need all 12 trolls to beat him, they certainly didn't do it before Sollux woke up.

Also? That is a lot of meteors.

This is assuming, Aqizzar, that the kernelsprites absorb the 'power' of whatever they're prototyped with in the first place, instead of just having a predetermined amount of power that's given a flavour of whatever they're prototyped with.

Given the game-like logic of Skaia's / Sburb's operation, that's actually a solid theory.  It takes whatever the sprite was prototyped with, and imbues it with the same generic powers and cryptic knowledge, filtered and colored by the typing.  It seems to do the same thing with the enemies - Imps, Ogres, Liches, etc. all have the same basic abilities, dressed up in whatever themes the Kernels give them.

Given that one of the names for Gl'Golyb is THE RIFT'S CARBUNCLE, killing the Black King prototyped with Feferi's lusus probably causes The Rift that Karkat accuses John and the rest of the kids of creating.

Good thinking.  And not impossible.  The more I look back on the Trolls sitting around in their lab, the more I get the feeling that they're a lot more "contemporary" to the kids than any of them think (as much as anything in the game could be called "contemporary"), and that their session isn't exactly over.  Maybe I'm just reading the wrong signs.  But yeah, Hussie has been dropping ever more hints that the Trolls are themselves responsible for fucking up their game, by unknowingly following the kids, and are trying to retroactively fix things, or something crazy like that.  Honestly, I've really lost track.

Also since skaias timeline isn't directly correlated with the rest of the universe, it doesn't matter when the black king takes the white kings scepter. Meteors will just start raining down in a predetermined time period on the planet.
