He also knows the arc is probably reaching an end, and wants to wring out as much silliness and pointlessness as he can, before he dives into the plot again.

Considering how long the troll arc is already, all of this had better be really fucking important to the main plot, is all I'm saying. Probably the card motifs are going to be the most important thing we get out of this act.

A set of four supporting characters. Five, if you count Sollux, who actually hasn't communicated with them at all anyway. Andrew Hussie's strongest suit is apparently characterization, which is showcased most clearly in this act, but my fear is mounting that everything they are doing will prove to have been a colossal waste of time (which it apparently did), leaving us all to boggle vacantly at all this je ne sais quoi.

Now, as I've previously stated, I love emotional ups-and-downs, but I'd enjoy them much more if we were learning about the world the kids have plunged headlong into. The trolls all already know all this, and we could instead be seeing the process by which they learned these things, but instead we're being treated to ROMANTIC FOIBLES that occur among a cast of YOUNG PEOPLE WITH ISSUES. And if I wanted that, I'd read Questionable Content instead. Which I already do.

Well, as Hussie has gone out of us way to let us know, those kids with issues need to romantically outrace the IMPERIAL DRONE, which demands they find some kind of love. Now I'm not saying that that's completely arbitrary, but yeah, I'm saying that's completely arbitrary.

In retrospect though, I find it hilarious that WD's latest avatar is a troll that is, in fact, very strong and angry, but secretly wants to be dominated.

Well, think of the last intermission! That one was supposed to be completely ridiculous, but it turned out to be very important to the plot. I don't doubt this is going to be important too.
