I imagine the shippers will say it's alright because their genetics are a closed circle, or somthing like that. Still, one has to consider that the kids and the guardians never seem concerned about the world outside of each other. Grampa Harley was an outside force for Jade, but he's dead. John's Dad seemed to have a job of some sort considering the program on his PDA, but it seemed to not really matter. Rose's Mom is an absurdly rich alcoholic, so she and Rose likely never left their home. Bro and Dave lived in some now obliterated city, and Dave seemed unaffected by this. The kids only ever seem to care about their guardians and each other. The impending destruction of Earth doesn't really faze them, because the four of them still have a chance to survive. Future Dave, on the other hand, seems a bit disturbed mentally. Earth still got destroyed, but in this case John and Rose are dead, and Jade is as good as dead without a way into the medium. The kids really must be loners if everything up to the destruction of Earth fails to impact lasting harm, except is the death of one another.

John and Jade are the dead ones. Rose was/is/will be alive and kicking at that point.

Bah, it's impossible to write a paragraph on Homestuck without messing up somthing. Complex plot is complex.

Rose cares enough to write a Sburb guide for GameFAQs. John talks with Nannasprite about saving Earth. When it becomes clear that this is something they can't do, well, they move on. They've got their own problems to deal with, like not getting blown up by meteors or killed by imps or Sovereign Slayers.

They aren't completely disinterested in the fate of their planet.

I think that could just be a WEBCOMIC ABSTRACTION. Being okay with Earth being bombarded by meteors isn't really realistic behavior, but on the other hand, it just wouldn't be fun to watch John angst about a bunch of strangers being dead for a hundred pages.

To clarify the prototyping thing, I'm talking about dimensions.  The stock Battlefield at the center of Skaia is a 3x3 chessboard with two kings in eternal stalemate.  John's entry turned it into a kinda-normal chessboard with a full set of pieces (and then some).  Rose's entry turned the Battlefield into a huge cube-thing.  Dave's entry turned it into an actual planet, with inhabitants and terrain to fight over.  Each entry adds another dimension to the "board".

What Jade's entry will turn it into is hard to imagine.  What the full twelve entries of the Trolls must have done to the Battlefield is mind-blowing to postulate.  Unless the Battlefield has a predetermined final form, and it's evolution is parceled out between however many players there are.
Um, it goes 2 dimensional -> 2 dimensional ->3 dimensional ->3 dimensional.

It gets more complex, but you can't really say each one adds a dimension.

Complexity, fine, we'll go with that word.  Point is, how complex does it get after four prototypings?  After twelve?

theory: Bec is somehow Jades Lusus. meaning he will die and be prototyped.
Seriously, Bec is hella up in the qualities of a Lusus. All white, mystical powers, watches over Jade while Jade acts kinda like his zookeeper.

Bec is totally a Lusus

Becquerel is Earth's First Guardian. He's not going to die. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Point is, how complex does it get after four prototypings?

A torus.

After twelve?

A klein bottle.

Troll Lusi, maybe...

Well dang, that does make sense. but he isn't working for Lord English at all? Maybe Alternias purpose is to summon Lord English, and Earths purpose is to defeat him?

Could also be that he's half made of Halley, so everything he's supposed to know about being the First Guardian has to filter through a dog's brain.  So all he really understands is loyalty to the Harley's and weirdass Skaia-related Guardian stuff, namely dangerous places to keep Jade out of.  As seen, he's not even exactly omnipotent - Jade manages to fool around in the Frog Temple long enough to mess with the time capsule and play an inane game of Pictionary before Bec found her.
