Saying that it will be a long time until something happens seems to be Andrew Language for "Less than a dozen pages before this". At least in this arc. He's drawing attention to all the troll shenanigans he had to cut to be done with this intermission inside a reasonable timeframe.

Again, it's like he's explaining the story to us rather than telling it. I think it's a neat effect, whether or not it's intentional.

Also, I like how gA has a different elaborate costume in pretty much every panel. That's another thing that won't show up elsewhere in the troll intermission. Most trolls think fashion is stupid, and probably won't be alchemizing any clothes, so lets have a fashion designer troll who changes outfit all the time! I bet the whole fan art thread is currently squeeing itself to stupor :P

Kanaya's still cool and all, but given Hussie's propensity for incorporating fan crap that he likes, I hope we get some chainsaw-crazy at some point.
