I don't think Jade's dream-self is dead, mainly because she started glowing just before the meteor hit. Whatever happened, it overloaded the dream-bot, but she might still live.

I saw it as throwing John out of the path of the meteor, sacrificing herself. The meteor was going to blow up anyway. The robot blew up because DreamJade blew up, because the meteor blew up.

Hrrm. After watching it again, I can definitely conclude it was epic. However, there are a few other things I can tell from it. Firstly, I have to say I think Bec is the key to all of this. I'm not sure how, not yet, but I have this feeling he's going to be one of the main movers of this entire thing.

The way Jade turned white was oddly similar to when characters enter the medium. Watch John or Rose enter, and they turn white the sam way. Could also be a teleporter, or a dave-save including timetables.
