It seems Dad is the only human who is exempt from it all. Bec is another being exempt from it, but being a dog doesn't give him as much weight.

Ah, but Bec arrived from a Sburb meteor. We haven't seen anyone create him yet, but odds are that someone will.

Well, actually, my favourite theory on this is that Bec is a stable time loop. Bec arrives to the Medium with Jade, and is later sent to the past in a Veil meteor. Don't think about that too hard, it'll hurt your brain.

If a writer has something happen in a rough draft, but changes it later, that doesn't make the rough draft event canon.

Even if said writer, say, originally wrote the rough draft to fill a free topic in a journal for English class, and said rough draft was therefore read by a non-editor.

Eh... the Han shooting second issue is a retcon; the original A New Hope was by no means a rough draft. Remember they had to shoot the entire movie twice; that first one (where Vader had a shrill scottish voice) was the rough draft.
