I'm so glad MSPA had an ad for this book because it is wonderful.

The editorial review looks like some kind of single-person troll-log. A rantlog? Seriously, look at all those typing quirks.

That was flirting.
Psychotic, apologize-to-me-for-being-crippled-by-me flirting, yes. Vriska could turn all Atoner right now and I would never feel an inch of sympathy for her character. I find more sympathetic motivation in freaking Equius.

Vriska's a bitch all right, but what's wrong with Equius? Sure, he's a bit creepy with his nude musclebeast portraits and racism, but I certainly don't see him as unsympathetic. He crafts robot limbs for his friends, even if they are lowblooded scum. He looks after Nepeta and makes sure she doesn't get tossed off a cliff by Vriska or anything. He disapproves of killing wild animals, and says that they are to be 100ked upon with adoration.

I hope Vriska won't turn all Atoner, by the way. That's just not how I see her character. She's the evil one who nonchalantly kills people. I can handle a Vriska who doesn't nonchalantly kill people, but I'm really not sure how I would relate to a Vriska who felt sorry for nonchalantly killing people.

Is it just me or is John become more like Dave as the story goes on? He's less passive and more snarky now.

He's always been snarky. The difference is that Dave's much better at it. The only Kid who was never snarky is Jade.

First I thought you meant metaphorical tentacles, but that doesn't really make sense, since Vriska's SPIDER themed. Are you talking about the Breeze? The blue tendrils in John's face? That's just wind. From the mail system. The far-reaching pseudopods of Parcel Mistress.

Also, I'm not convinced that Vriska is trying to kill John here. That wouldn't really serve a point. Terezi already did that. What would it look like if Vriska tried to kill the same kid she killed, just moments after? My guess is that her super-secret plan is to help the kids. Possibly double-cross them later, but before that, help.

Vriska is complete ass at manipulating people with her powers, holy crap.  And John is the Immovable Object of antagonism.

AG: So I'm planning on helping you!
EB: ok, i will be sure to let my guard down.
EB: psyche!!!!!!!!!
EB: oh damn, that was 9 !'s.
EB: !!!!!!!1
EB: shit!

Seriously, how do you antagonize that?  It's like struggling in qucksand, it just keeps getting dumber without accomplishing anything.

Looks like Vriska has a noble, or at least noble for trolls, intention here.

Maybe origionally the timeline went wrong because John slept too long, so Vriska is trying to fix it, or via paradox theory, it was destined to happen anyway.
