Yep.

It's technically the same Rift that's affecting both the kids and trolls.

Don't the kids have a scratch or rift of their own and just don't realize it yet maybe?
I think they are planning on making it, judging from the conversation.

WE'LL FLY DOWN YOUR THROAT AND DESTROY YOU. THAT IS THE TEAM HOMESTUCK WAY!

And I was going to quote a post in the MSPA forums stating that the troll hate-love is likely more platonic than people make it out to be, but fuck finding it now.

I think the kids are planning on bringing the trolls over to their session, not that they're trying to kill the trolls. The only problem with The Rift on the trolls' side is that awakened an invincible enraged demon.

That's the impression I get anyway.

I get the feeling that Karkat backwards trolling John might actually BE what caused the rift in the first place, or at least contributed to it.

Still though, I wonder how long it took for Karkat to finish trolling backwards and then shift linearly because from the looks of that screen, they don't have a whole lot of time. From Johns perspective anyway.

What an awkward update.

What an awkward update.

Yes, yes it is awkward, in just about every conceivable fashion.  I'm specifically awkwarded out by the time-frame, and I really hope to fuck that Troll Hussie doesn't rear his ugly gray again and decide to pick up the kids' story right here and now.  I want to know what happened after Descend, and I don't want it trickled out in a bunch of obtuse flashbacks.

All that being said, I'm going to have a Hell of a time getting this grin off my face.

Really, you could quote absolutely any line in the whole spiel and it would be just as hilarious.  The whole damn thing is a masterpiece, especially since for once in a very long while, it is completely devoid of callbacks and reference lines.  Which is fitting, being the momentous first conversation that it is.  John even references some "stutid fuckass" line as if it were another "it keeps happening".  I love it.

Of course, Andrew is going to bring the time-shenanigans meta, and release a SB&HJ comic with that line soon.

I thought it sounded familiar, I was going through old kid-troll conversations looking for it in case I needed to correct myself.

Silly me.

CG: YOU ARE SUCH AN IGNORAMUS I COULD SHIT MILES OF RAGE SNAKE TO CHOKE YOU TO DEATH.

On one hand I await the moment in my life where I can use this line, on the other only a brutally hateful moment would call for such a line.

There should be a separate thread for trying to use unlikely catch phrases and quotes in real conversations.

That conversation was gold. Also, the Cosbytop once again rears its smarmy grin... now seemingly combined with Jade's laptop hairband thing.

Something tells me that we're either going to be learning about how the kids got to here by working backwards through Karkat's perspective.
