No, using humans as a power source is stupid. I was just saying it might be all the machines have to go on, being that they live on a bombed out dead rock in the middle of nowhere.

Dude, satelites with solar panels, fixing the sky, geothermal energy. And where the heck would all the air go?

They have hovering squids, im certain they can do those things. Although i think the fact that they only have hovering squids might be a point against them.

If the machines were planning on repairing the atmosphere, you think there'd be some evidence of it. In any case, we are getting off topic.

Yes, you are.  Back to shippan.  So, what is it about Sollux anyway that gets folks all over him?  He's cool and all, but if I actually knew the guy he'd be pretty unlikable.

No idea. But I like him. Probably because he's the most like me out of the trolls.

For clarity, I don't mean folks as in you folks; like him all you want.  I mean "folks" as in the other Trolls.  He's got Trolls queuing up to lament him.

I would probably dance on his grave.

Then again, I'd dance on my own grave, because that sounds like fun and I want ot try it.

IDE/THEORY: The blue pill is just candy and doesn't do anything. If you eat it, Morpheus just shoots you.

Neil Gaiman wrote a sweet promotional short story for the Matrix, where the machines were using humans for processing power rather than energy. "Goliath", I think it was called. I think it's still up in the internet somewhere.

As for Sollux, I think he's okay by troll standards. I mean, they're all assholes. Their whole species is messed up. And unlike several other people, he's actually competent. He wrote Sgrub. He wrote a virus that makes your computer explode and places a curse on you. He managed to contact someone who didn't even have a Trollian account. And lived on the moon. And used a typewriter. He's pretty good at this whole computer hacking business.

I'm still going for Karkat because he is quite literally the most human of them all.

Sollux is competing with Gamzee for the least amount of time spent onscreen, so I can't see how many people can make wide-sweeping judgments on his character.

Though I do believe that Hussie is now doing things solely to exacerbate the ship-ocity of Hivebent in general.

Well, most people don't want to lose their best hacker. The only troll I've seen really shook up is Karkat, and he's actually a pretty emotional guy, not to mention he blames himself for Sollux's death. And that's not even getting into the creepy HoNk from Gamzee.

Spoiler: This one (click to show/hide)

Well, Eridan seemed pretty humbled by the news of Sollux's death.

Well, Eridan has nerdy, over-emotional hidden depths hidden behind a thin veneer of sarcasm and seething hatred towards all.

Oh holy shit, I think I just found my clone.

Well, the Planets each of them are on, and Prospit/Derse are all in the same local region. Apparently Dream-Selves are just copies of each of them that happen to exist on a different planet... and Homestuck Jack has shown that you can travel between them without the gates even.
