Yeah, we do know he gets better.  And now Feferi is rocketing through her second gate to him, to magic his bipolar ass back to life or something.  Then, let the shipping commence.

But what the heck is Feferi's Kernel then.  I didn't see it in that bowl (which doesn't really mean anything); but if it died before she entered the Medium, how did the glub not kill her too?
Sollux is the last player in a twelve-link chain, so he probably starts with INFINITY grist and access to DEUS EX MACHINAFIER. They have so many ways of bringing him back to life. Man, this might actually be kind of sad if we didn't know that he's all better in the future. Well, it's kind of sad anyway. Mostly because of Karkat's reaction. I don't think he's been that shocked by anything yet.

But I ramble. The way the psychic nuke worked, it killed the lesser bloods first, right? Maybe it just needs a while to take effect, meaning that Feferi had ample time to get out of the universe, and even Sollux had enough for him and Karkat to speedrun their way into the medium. I think his entry item was a beehive, by the way. He fell on it when he died. The mainframe bees weren't purple, were they?

Hmm... we know Sollux survives in some capacity, but we don't know if All the trolls are alive in the end. In fact, we know that somehow, their session is borked and unwinnable. I wonder if there's a related cost to resurrecting Sollux.

Oh shit. SHIT.

...

Jesus. Fucking. Christ.

Yeah, is it just me, or is Gamzee totally okay with this turn of events?

I know I've been predicting that not all of the trolls make it out alive, but damn this is like a big sucker punch. Thanks, Hussie!

Hmm. Feferi is the Witch of Life, but wouldn't passing through her first Gate mean that she ends up in Sollux's world, rather than Sollux's home? I don't think she's going to find a tower to break her fall when she gets through...

I dislike Feferi.
I like Eridan.

He is like a homicidal Harry Potter and is a miserable self-pitying Nerd Pimp Daddy.

Also, Karkat confirms that they do, indeed, cry blood. Or all their body fluids are the same color as their blood, except diluted in this case.

EDIT: The Sollux in the veil could be Future Sollux from a timeline where he didn't die, of course.

I don't know which is most disappointing.  Jack trying to be consoling, Karkat's manly tears, or scribble-mode Gamzee still being a retard with one of his friends (right?) laying dead.  He can express sorrow.

We don't actually know how most of the trolls are linked, actually. I mean, Gamzee might not have known Sollux all too well. Although Equius is likely the only one who wouldn't give half a damn about any of the other trolls who isn't Nepeta, Aradia, or anyone of higher blood.

EDIT: Gamzee is probably high off his tits on sopor slime pie, though.

That was the most hilarious death scene ever. I laughed so hard.

Fuck you, Hussie, for making me laugh at a tragedy. Never stop.

... what part of "guy covered in insects and his own blood" is hilarious?

Although the one right after it is certainly tops.

I don't think Gamzee is quite aware of what has happened. He MIGHT be aware that there are other people present, but I wouldn't trust him on that either.

The one right after it made me immediately not care. Which is kinda horrible.

Actually, me too.

Plus I keep on forgetting the fact that they're roughly thirteen in human years. Superman once said something about how horrible the death of a child is, but I forget what it was. Or was it Batman?

EDIT: The Vast Glub, fitting in with GlubGlub's general Elder God theme, probably is just a massive wave of psychic feedback or wrongness that has the unfortunate sideeffect of killing everything with a mind.

I think Sollux's brain just came out his tear ducts.

It does look like he's bleeding from the ears, eyes, and mouth.  Heck of a way to go.

To answer your question: what made it funny was how fast we transitioned to it ("later there was a cave in"), and watching the normally unflappably angry Karkat freak the fuck out.  It would be a lot sadder (that is to say, sad at all) if we didn't already know Sollux turns out reasonably alright in the end.
