It's been long, long before that. Troll society is designed to let anyone be "faithful" and "promiscuous" as much as they want, with whoever they want. The comic was designed to give ever drooling shipper on the internet a boner. And they got one.

That romance quadrant thing should have been a huge clue, and when the lucky charms gag at the comic's own expense failed to turn the tide, it was obvious we're all metaphorically fucked.

That's Act 5, too.

The thing is, Act 5, unlike Act 6, had plenty adventure action in addition to romance. Act 6 seems to have become more and more mired in romance, to the point where the adventure part starts to feel like a background.

I swear, if they manage to defeat LE by the purified power of romance, I'm going to do an acrobatic pirouette off the handle.

You know, the more and more time passes, the more it seems that the so-called "retcon" powers did not actually "retcon" anything that wasn't explicitly retconned in the comic itself. I have no other way to explain this bullshit.

Yeah... as far as I can tell it just makes new timelines by jamming pieces of others together and then promotes them to Alpha. Aside from hands and oil. Rather less interesting.

As with most things Homestuck, I believe that retcon powers can be categorised under "complete fucking horseshit".

We need more strong, coherent storylines! Like Problem Sleuth! That was a story that made complete sense from start to finish.
