No kidding.

What purpose did this signal serve? What is God-Calliope going to do that Calliope can't?

... Godly things, I'd wager.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

What is God-Calliope going to do that Calliope can't?

Prototype themselves using the last kernelsprite and then ram LE to create LADY ENGLISHSPRITE?

No, she'll fuse (together with the good half of Gamzee) with the cat-rose-tentacle-sprite^2 monster to create a counterpart for LE in the paradox space *crack theory*.

I can almost see this as the correct answer.

So yeah, I think you've hit on something really likely here. It may not be exactly how things go down, but given that the sprite prototyping has suddenly been given more prevalence, setting such a thing up, and the nature of both cherubs' maturation and SBURB's investment in player maturation, I think it's more likely than it might seem.

Heck, Doc Scratch even points out that LE is a known factor being accommodated for by paradox space, which suggests he's supposed to be there.

i'm pretty sure that's a technical truth in the sense that literally everything in the alpha timeline is sanctioned by paradox space and "supposed to be there"; his comparison to Bec Noir was a red herring, since he never said that the sanctions didn't apply to Bec Noir nor did he say that Lord English isn't a loose cannon who will destroy everything in his way.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

After several weeks of massive textwalls, honestly no, it's refreshing for the comic to swing back to relying on visuals and inference for a little while.  You know it won't last too long.

It's called Decompressed Comic. The hard part about pulling it off is gauging how much decompression you can do before people start to get a bit annoyed. Not to mention that each person have different tolerance.

I personally doesn't really care either way, since there's already enough action. You don't really need Calliope to be narrating her revival.

Maybe I could experimentally add narration into the recent update to see how it looks.

I personally, in my imagined scenario where after the comic ends people make a voiced/fully animated version, think that these segments with no talking could be really cool for a brief music break.

The "no talking" part is very thematic of both the "void" aspect's meta (being "irrelevant" to plot, but not really) and of "rogue" class abilities (stealing the plot exposition from the mspaintadventures in order to help others faster).

Though I wonder why does this void-teleport looks so similiar to John's retcon-teleport...

Mostly because this sequence is a near shot-for-shot callback to the end of A6A6I4.
