He's a Mendicant, not a Merchant.

You realise Peregrine Mendicant means the same thing was Wayward Vagabond? Peregrine is a synonym of 'wandering around', which is also a synonym of Wayward. Mendicant is a synonym of 'Begger', which is also a synonym of 'Vagabond'.

Their names mean exactly the same thing.

Black and white in chess take exactly the same shape, and mirror each other, but they are always at war.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Oh i suspect there's no doubt that there will be some sort of conflict between the two, presumably chess based, but i was rebuking the "Post Man" connection. Although of course it's clear that PM -is- a Post Man, so to speak, i don't think he had anything to do with John's package.

Curious that off-tilt hexagonal block would leave a circular hole.

A book and tub came down from above.

John looks up through the hole a little later.

The grist didn't do it.
