Wait, I just realized.

Does that mean Gamzee's dreamself is still alive?

Every dwarf, every dwarven man, women, and child, that comes to our forts will die there; it's truly sad when you think about it. And we ask our selves, why? Why do we push forward, knowing this fate, that we are destined for failure? Because, this game grasps the concept of mortality. Some games you can never lose, but we all stop eventually, causing a 'death' to those game's 'worlds'. Dwarf Fortress gives us a definite end, knowing that we will leave that world eventually, and move on to more.

And so ended interesting dialog in homestuck... Unless Karkat goes on to become a sullen ghost space pirate. And that is very likely.

We have Dave still.

(also he is so not staying dead in anyway shape or form. they obviously need him alive, and jane has life powers, so she's going to revive him. duh. :P)

Best description I could think of for the final page of the update:

Page 8230,

On a planet that had previously spent 3 years, shrunk, on a golden ark between 2 small universes before being delivered along with 3 other planets; A 16 year old floating boy in blue hood watches as a horned alien with mutant, red blood, descendant of a messiah of peace, is impaled with a giant red, 3 pronged fork by the boy's parallel universe 16 year-old mind-controlled biological mother, as she states, "Submit." All to make an example of why the alien and another alien present should not consider resistance to the aliens' fish-like-queen's plans. The other alien and a man-sized, bipedal, blue, iguana watch this scene in horror. The boy shouts the only thing there there is to shout, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO-" The boy's mind-controlled, floating, dog-eared twin-but-not sister realizes the boy's presence.

Now, show this to as many people, who have not read Homestuck, as possible.

jane is stabbing karkat specifically to demonstrate her lifey powers on him, as was suggested by Jade... saying that they were giving a demonstration

Then John abducts him to try and save him in dramatic irony, or Blood powers prevent him from dieing, or allow him to weaponize his blood as he dies.

I wonder if John can willingly use the weapon to warp around?

If, as indicated by Jade, Jane's lifey powers are one-time-only to bring somebody back from the dead, )(IC just fucked up, if Karkat's got some clear thinking available. She needs Karkat to talk to Echidna, and so cannot kill him again.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

There are 604 o's in John's Big No.
I don't know the significance of this, I just thought I'd mention it.

Except if that was what was actually going to happen, the update would have ended with Karkat in a some what epic panel. Something is going to happen to fuck this up, thus why it happened at all.

Potential outcomes:

  • John Absconds, Jane uses life powers to bring Karkat back.
  • Karkat uses blood powers
-How and when he uses powers is uncertain
  • John Absconds with Karkat, potentially after blood powers.

I have a couple ideas as to how his Blood powers work. Either is helps keep him alive or he weaponizes his own blood, or both. Maybe it can also work as a healing of sorts to others?

Oh man, remember? Karkats power is to befriend people that make him bleed! This is PERFECT! Now he just needs to use his bleedy powers to break the spell!
