Here's what I pieced together: My sister does online, paid, artwork commissions. I'm guessing someone asked for a commission of a Homestuck character. She looks through the legalities of doing this commission, and even got in contact with Hussie's fiance. My sister interpreted how they handled everything as very rude and aggressive, and as such, refuses to read Homestuck out of a grudge.

I've only ever seen Hussie go "You can do commissions, but no prints/merchandise". I'm not sure how your sister managed to get a bad response from that, or needed to contact anyone directly to find out the rules.

I don't know the full scale of the situation. She never fully explained it to me, just the bare minimum. This is all I've pieced together.

Every dwarf, every dwarven man, women, and child, that comes to our forts will die there; it's truly sad when you think about it. And we ask our selves, why? Why do we push forward, knowing this fate, that we are destined for failure? Because, this game grasps the concept of mortality. Some games you can never lose, but we all stop eventually, causing a 'death' to those game's 'worlds'. Dwarf Fortress gives us a definite end, knowing that we will leave that world eventually, and move on to more.

Yeah, I've seen people who charge commission for making costumes or drawing pornography.  Hussie really doesn't care what people do with his property as long as it's not out and out merchandizing and nobody tries to pretend some element of the design isn't ultimately derived from him, i.e. whatever freemium MMO that was offering what were obviously troll horn decorations for cash payment.

It's times like this where we need a good image dump.

Well, all I can answer at this point is: Shenanigans.
I don't think I'll ever learn the full scope of what the hell happened.

Either way, she refuses to read Homestuck.

On to other things.

It feels nice to have finally caught up. No more spoiler risk for anything.

I have spent this new-found freedom opening 20+ tabs on TVTropes.

I am a terrible person.

Is that like the number of total trope pages Homestuck has? I can believe it.

They don't like you putting 'homestuck' tags on things you have for sale.

Even if you are selling blue fluorite octahedrons.

And yet Homestuck remains amazingly popular... Even with his indulgent self inserts.

Also, notice how Homestuck Andrew Hussie has no lips, and real Hussie has big lips.
Draw your own conclusions.

For something with such a renowned hatedom...

Beat me to it, but yeah that probably says something about Hussie's level of talent.

EDIT: The internet is good

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

Hussie is a horrorterror.

The windows are summoning portals for old ones and such, and guess who Jade and John see when they go through a window?

(Also it would make sense for Hussie to be a horrorterror rather then a middling old one or something.)

I've realized that the flash in which the Condesce dies at Roxy's and/or Dirk's hand(s) will inevitably be titled "Make )(er Pay". This isn't relevant to anything, no.

EDIT: Hey, do we know what happened to the magic cueball Rose was using when she went Grimdark?

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
