Goddam it, it's going to do the Problem Sleuth thing. Again.
It wasn't really funny the first time, but after the fifth time it was kinda funny. But then it became unfunny again.

It's a juju thing. You need to deal with it cherub style.

Object/weapon duality, like the key/gun.

And every time you go to do something with it, it changes.

And it was funny trying to see the readers (who actually existed at the time :P) trying to puzzle out the use of the gun for unlocking doors and the key for shooting things.

If you read the Problem Sleuth books, Hussie says it started out just switching to whichever form was opposite of what the audience mentioned, but eventually he just switched it to whatever was funniest.

It was funnt the whole way through, in my opinion.

What if there is no Predominating Calliope, only Spades Slick in cosplay?

Everyone is Spades Slick in cosplay, so that's a fairly meaningless observation.

I'm hoping for Slick's death but chances are it'll be Paint.

Yeah. Much like Gamzee, I am not aware of one single extant timeline in which Jack Noir dies.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
