I don't care too much for Tavros, Sollux or Feferi but it is nice to see they have at least some character left. I wonder if Vriska  is going to do something stupid now.

That's my theory as well. I assume the Horrorterrors to be players from a vaste number of failed sessions, having fled to the furthest ring to escape destruction. Not all aliens have to be easily cosplayed, after all.
