Well, being a ghost in the first place is (AFAIK) due to Feferi's intervention. The horrorterrors likely agreed to it specifically because of Lord English.

Do we actually have any sane non-minor characters?

No, not a single one.  Not even being flippant there, one of the things that I like about this story, and it took me a while to realize, is that every single character of any importance, namely all of the "heroes", are more or less cracked in their own special way.  The only ones who don't have some very explicit problem are maybe Jade and Jane, and they've both shown themselves to be genuinely nutty in some one-off fashion.

Meanwhile, my God that face.  Aradia, why you so wonderful?

Jade has had no social contact except for three people over the internet... And a magic dog I guess.
How is she not cracked?
And Jane is obviously insecure. Which is less mental problem and more just saaaaaaaad...  :(

For some reason, I can easily imagine Troll scientists doing their experiments for the same reason Aradia is there.

You just answered your own question there, before you even asked it.

So... Anybody else feel that Aradia perfectly reflects the reader, or is that just me right now?

Ah, good. I was worried that I was forgetting someone. I should probably go for a re-read, if I manage to scrounge up the time. My memory is starting to slip. The cast full of cracked characters does help make this story so interesting. It makes for such brilliant interaction.

And Aradia just started getting some of the best expressions since she went god-tier.

Thank god. I thought Aradia is going to just stay in the background and smile like an idiot until the end of Homestuck.

Instead she's just going to smile like a madwoman.  Death's Number One Fangirl, what the fuck.

I do agree, though. Let's see Rincewind play Sburb.
