I feel that you are talking about the Gamist Fic by people on Ao3... I tihnk it was either an FAQ or Bug List, either way I don't like how it makes SBurB into so much of a game.

Regardless, I think it best to try to glean the basis of the game from the hooks that it pulls from themes, and try to rework the spirograph-like progression it has into something more understandable.

No, it was a real game that has a section on GameFAQ and a bunch of people just went over there and started talking about Sburb like it was a real game. Kind of odd that it never got shut down by anyone either.

Well, honestly, I have nothing else to think other than I want to somehow transport this thread to some vague chat room, maybe half-forum post; half IM chat, and see what monstrosity comes about that.

And have our own silly little talks about our silly little memes, and themes about a silly comic that we like.

Not really hard in the slightest.
Just come up with an IRC name for the room (#B12HS, or somesuch), join that and tell others to join.
You can put more effort into it, if you wanted, but hey.

Nah, the game will be a jump-and-run of WV's adventures on devastated Earth.

My purchase would still have been worthwhile.

Do we know what muses do besides nothing active?

I will theorize that Calliope as Muse of Space exerts influence on the story. Because,

Calliope views everyone in the story as characters in a story, even writing self-insert fanfiction about everything that's happened.
Muses provide inspiration for literature and art.
Caliborn breaks the fourth wall, so it's reasonable to theorize that Calliope may do the same thing.
Space can refer to a lot of different things depending on how abstract and meta you want to think. Like the space on a page, for example.

So if we take all of this to its logical extreme and as far retardedly meta as we can because why the fuck not this is Homestuck fuck you, then ultra powerful dead Calliope is in Hussie's swanky study whispering in his ear what he should do next, providing inspiration and direction to the story that is favorable to her ends.

Going further on this, I could posit that perhaps the Muse is something of an inversion of the Lord. Whereas Caliborn, as a Lord, can break through the Fourth Wall, Calliope as a Muse can more subtly flex it, allowing others both out and in. This is, in some manner, responsible for Spades Slick escaping the destruction of his universe, as well as connecting the Fourth Walls in such a manner as to permit Jade and co. to escape their session and get to the Alpha Session.

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

Or simply, just like the Beds, and the Ruins, they are present, and that's about it.
[Note that the Felt Manor/Doc's Inn and Hussie's Manor are linked by a wall]

The only thing we see [definitively] of the Lord is that he relies on others to do things.

Anyways, still waiting on GlyphGryph. :v

Makes sense. The Lord title does imply authority.

And not merely that he relies on it, but he sames able to FORCE them to do things via possession of some sort.

That's more or less it.

The possession hasn't really been seen yet.

The possession has most definitely been seen. Three separate times, in fact. Two from Lord English, one from Caliborn.
