Okay, Caliborn said that Dad is dead. I'm not sure I believe that. One one hand, he is the exact kind of person to lie about that just to bully someone. On the other hand, the player's guardians dieing is a pretty consistent thing in this story. On the original hand, if this Dad is anything like the Dad from B1, he should have been able to escape from Derse without too much fuss, with his immense mangrit and all. And back on the second hand, this is Derse under HIC, so it may be more competently run, and he got out because Jack released him, and Jack's over in a cell on Prospit. Oh, what to believe?

And by making Jane cry, Caliborn reasserts his role as the Lord of Dick.
