In other news, it recently occurred to me that way back in Problem Sleuth, MK, when he was wearing the corset, should have been fusing hydrogen. Which makes me think that the entire time he was hugely massive, he had this extremely squeaky voice due to fusing hydrogen to helium. Also, he was probably extremely hot. Which probably explains the volcano.

Yep, it was that whole "Dramatic reveal panel with big dynamic background that confirms that a character is gay, which was in no way hinted at all hamfisted-like up until this point" trope, which was just now created when it happened twice.

For comparison, Jake/Dirkhead and Rose/Kanaya. In Hussie's usual fashion, a bunch of the elements from either scene mirror one another too: One's a bright and open scene, while the other's dark and closed. One faces left, the other faces right. One is initiated by an alphaverse derse girl, the other's initiated by a betaverse prospit boy. One scene portrays the prominent threat of a dragon and planetary destruction, while the other portrays the subtly-hinted threat of a murderclown hiding in the vents and complete social disintegration. One was all masculine and explosive and riotous and dangeresque, and the other is all feminine and dazzling and delicate and clandestine.

The guy really loves his parity.
