Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Isn't it cool, how I totally called it? Way back in February. Before uu even showed up.

Calliope goes to sleep, wakes up in the bubbles, everyone goes "OH SHIT IT'S LORD ENGLISH", she dies. Horribly.

Nope. When you die in a dream bubble, you die in real life wake up.

I don't think anybody knows what Lord English looks like besides Doc Scratch, his slaves, and Hussie.

It's too perfect... except it seems to be the wrong leg. The leg Calliope currently has a chain around is the one LE lacks.

No problem.

So, here's the deal.

Callie and "English" (it's a nickname uu picked for himself because it's a pool reference and HE LIKES GAMES) inhabit the same body. Clasping their personal anklet around their shared body's legs is the mechanism by which they sleep/change who's in control... the others shackle is always on their leg, so they can't run off and keep control of their body... and eventually juju enchantments will force them to switch control between the siblings. However, uu has a devious plot! He saws off his leg (another reference to the SAW films) and unlocks his own bindings, leaving him free to roam around without her forever as she remains dormant inside their body. Pitty Roxy already learned Calli's name to wake her up... which is inadvertantly why Lord English tries to kill her. It still proves the key to his undoing.

Oh, that's also why Lord English has a peg leg, in case you missed it. Also, spoiler alert.

Wow, you're good at this IDE/THEORY stuff, what with the doomed-dave idea (I don't care if it ain't canon!  Yet!).

This theory seems more likely, really.  I had forgotten the pegleg.

It makes so much sense. This is truly the ultimate culmination of some shitty forum troll.

The only question this leaves is: Why wouldn't he just cut his leg off just above the cuff? Seems like an odd choice.

Maybe he didn't cut it off.

Maybe he ripped it off.

Also, to be more specific about her Juju, it is the green sun, after applied space powers, sent back in time to be her Juju.

Hey guys, I was just thinking...
Since the Beta trolls don't have the same names as the Alpha ancestors, does this mean the the Beta human guardians wouldn't necessarily have the same names as the Alpha kids?

I don't think we were actually given the Alpha Ancestor's names. Just titles.

Marquise is a title. ;;;;)

More seriously, those names seem to be earned rather than given names. They are all quite descriptive.

I wonder if Trolls choose their names upon reaching adulthood?

Also, isn't the only conflicting name we've got the first one? (which is obviously just made up)

Yeah, I don't think the Dolorosa saw Karkat's ancestor as a grub and was like "Yeah, we're going to call this guy The Sufferer."

Marquise Spinneret Mindfang. Orphaner Dualscar. Neophyte Redglare. Exp8riot Darkleer.

We got a few.

All of those names all sound like nicknames given after they became famous. Nobody knew Mindfang was going to have good mind control powers, nobody knew Dualscar was going to get two scars, nobody knew Redglare was going to wear red glasses, and... well, I've got nothing for Darkleer.
