Nepeta had a crush on him, and as a crimsonblood he probably didn't get out much.

He sure as hell won't say it but I'd bet Karkat enjoys hanging out with any one of his friends, doubly so after his blood color came clean and there was a decided lack of reaction by anyone, even Equius. He probably would even spend time with Vriska simply for the sake of hanging out as long as nobody pointed it out to him.

Nepeta also had a huge crush on him and precisly the type of personality that leands itself to forcibly playing with him, protests or not. He may have spent as much time being pseudoraped by Nepeta than with anyone else on the meteor!

I'd think he would be thrilled to be part of a romance.
Why did he avoid Nepeta so much in the past? To hide his blood color?
So with that out of the way, and he did see a future self hanging out with future Nepeta, maybe he's all for some romance.

Also, time may just not matter in death, which would explain Aranea being dead for over 1000 years but Meenah being dead for a few minutes. This directly contradicts what I said eariler, but who gives a shit.
