Been thinking, what if those dream tree branches we've been seeing are a benevolent version of the red miles?

UPDAT-- oh Goddammit I pressed post as soon as I saw it and then I'm told I was ninja'd before I could even type anything.

I wonder what the clue is. Maybe that brown thing is a note or something.

The next clue is going to be some more of dad's clothes. By the time Jane finds him he'll be running around butt naked.

Hmm... So, I haven't read this in quite a few months.  What do you guys think?  Are the new set of kids all for the best?

The story was rapidly losing momentum from all of the new characters, but I think that Hussie is getting things ironed out and pushing the story along now.

To answer your question: I have no idea.

No.

Homestuck is just walls of exposition, boring characters, and author self-inserts now.

This wasn't a trend that started with the new characters, though their arrival certainly exacerbated the problem.

Hey, I like exposition! And the characters. And the self inserts. The key is to not take it too seriously. Possibly. I don't actually know what the key is, but random psychological bullshit works fine as an intermediate.

And is that a little bit of entitlement I see there Toony?

I see... might just wait for him to finish, then.

I realize that it's good for people to have faith in creators, but things have been on the "I don't really want to read this" scale for about a year now.  I guess that in some ways I may have moved on from the point of my life when his writing was fully relevant.

Personally I just find this to be a kind of falling action. everyone got all hyped because of Cascade, and now everyone's expecting huge things to happen. Problem is that hussie declared Cascade the climax of the story. You're dealing with falling action now.

If this were treated as a whole, separate story from the prescratch universe, I think you'd find the pacing more understandable. Lets face it, the beginning of Homestuck was boring, and this is following the same pattern of establishing a complicated base and building on it, albiet with a good deal more humor. Just roll with it.

Makes sense. I really am hoping that Homestuck ends soon, so that Hussie can take his lessons learned into his next work.

Yeah, falling action has to be the worst part of a story to be reading as it's made. If you're bored with it, I can understand wanting to wait until it's over to read it all at once.
