If, like some are saying, Gamzee is using time travel to god-tier dead trolls (btw, please oh please let this be true) then that might put his murdering in a new light.  He talks about finally realizing his true role as a subjuggalator.  Maybe he was killing everyone to help them reach god-tier.  Just because a caste is furious, creepy, and casually murderous, doesn't mean they don't serve a positive role in troll society.

Though he kisses Tavros's corpse, he probably knew it wouldn't work (he dreamed on prospit so he probably at least knew it was destroyed).  It may have just been mating fondness clouding his judgement.

@update: Wow. I'd probably say something about how disturbing it is that Gamzee has collected and bottled the blood of his friends and now is calmly selling them to someone with a smile on his face, and that he needs some serious help, but I can't tear my eyes away from the magnificent cod piece.
