Why is the update named DOTA?
I have no idea. It's probable something obvius.
Death of the Author. I'd link to it, but the link would probably lead to a certain site known for devious time-devouring.

Not like that's going to stop Darvi from doing so like 5 minutes from now.

O god no links to tvtropes. I'm to much of a literature nerd to not waste my time.
Death of the Author.
Thanks!

Maybe H is playing DOTA?

Heh, I hate Dota, though I still love wc3...

I want to say that this is the last straw, that finally Homestuck has become so stupid that it's not worth reading anymore.

But I know I'll keep reading anyway.

What the fuck? That was a waste of time. I want the thirty seconds it took to click on those arrows back.

That's fair. Compared to other parts of the comic, it's a rather different brand of ridiculous, the kind that might actually deserve some ridicule when compared to its surroundings in tone. That and I know more than a few people who love the characters and plot, but are not fans of the whole Maximum Trolling thing (which this kind of is, since it's a callback to a troll answer to a question he was asked on a Formspring, IIRC; certainly, a reader not immersed in the fandom won't get the joke here).

That said I still absolutely loved it, and was being completely sincere earlier when I made my opinions on it clear.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Finished the album.

Based on just listening to each song once in the background while reading fanfics at midnight, I'm really liking Iron Knight and Fuschia Ruler.
I'm not much of a fan of the lyric'd songs, other than Iron Infidel.
My opinions will probably change with repeated listenings.

That last song on the album is Homestuck: The Musical.

I'd buy a ticket.

So many songs made to be exactly 4 minutes and 13 seconds long. WHAT OBSESSIVE COMPULSION HAVE YOU WROUGHT, ANDREW?

EDIT: Your Universe is just plain sexy. Traditional Jazz Lounge Ballad, which totally works as a love/betrayal song out of context, and as a giant in-joke in context. It's great.

I didn't really like the update, either. If Homestuck was all this, all the time, I definitely wouldn't read it.

Same here.  I think that I'd read it a bit longer, then get tired of all of the hijinks and want my grand storyline back.  Thank goodness this is an intermission.  Also I'm thinking that Hussie is in a Vriska's afterlife, or there is a memory form of Vriska in Hussie's afterlife.

I'm also disappoint that Darkleer and the Highblood didn't get any songs, unless those are secret songs or something.

They did, but the submitter stole them, so they had to be pulled.

New ones will arrive as soon as they can be requisitioned.
