Watch carcinoGeneticist wind up being Jade posting from the future.  Or it be one of the future people.

You know I'm right.

No, I bet there will be four "evil" kids that in some way match up with the four "good" kids.  The person we just read was Jade's match.

You know I'm right.

Please don't say that.  Then the whole game will just be an elaborate, modernized ripoff of Lufia.

I NEVER HEARD OF LUFIA SO IT'S NOT.

EDIT:

Good news Aqizzar!  There is five people in the trollchum list.  This makes my theory wrong.

No, wait, what if there is a secret fifth player that unites all four players or something.

Or it turns out to be the narrator. Who knows about the world destruction and everything and wants to stop it.

What if there is a fifth individual who is a counterpart to the wayward vagabond?

Theres already one of those. The Perengine Medicant. Incidentally, while a medicant can be a type of beggar, it also means a certain kind of monk. I say he's a bishop!

Clever.

But that sword still says 'king'.

Perhaps he stole it, or it is an indicator of who he really serves.

Or it's a holy relic. Why are we all reading so deep into that?

That could mean that the name should be taken in both senses and the sword implies prior position.

{speculation}
Was a ruler, then a beggar, now a self-made monk. Still has the sword.

But the order of monks it refers to are beggars. They are the kind that empathize the "virtues" of poverty. Got to give them credit though, because it is voluntary.

Could be a bishop too.  Bishops often have crosses.

Could be a bishop too.  Bishops often have crosses.
John is a king.moving his house counts as castling. Also, everybody has either helped him or will help him. Dave will come.

Rose is a bishop. She's blocked monsters from reaching egg bert and opened diagonal paths.
but she never attacks straight forward.

Dave is a knight. No explaining necessary. Also, he can jump very high.

Jade Harley is a queen. Center of power, the other pieces move around her, at her bidding.

Most pieces are wiped out in the time/apocalypse skipped over by the ascension movie.

Waygrant Vagabond =king mayor
Peregrine Mendicant =bishop

The vagabond performs castle! he moves to safe position, and his castle comes with!
He passed over the peregrine mendicant, his bishop. He even has delusions of grandeur in the chess match which makes his mayor status deeply confusing with this "chess" analogy.
