So does pattern recognition.  Expecting a god-like entity to intervene on a character's behalf is not that huge of a stretch in a story that already established it several times before, and had yet to introduce the god-like entity that everyone knew had to exist.

Anyway.  Yeah, I too am very happy that John Egbert wound up being named that instead of anything else.  It's the perfect name for a kinda-dorky everyman kid.  Even just wouldn't be the same lovable derpenstein if he was named Clint.

Another good/bad idea: for the contest, someone should write a song called Fraternus Fedorus (or something more Latin, I just made that up) about FedoraFreak (who else) and have it be a chant kind of thing. It should sound like the Skyrim theme or something else all chant-y and stuff in a different language.
