There's a name for this disorder, where people "See" sounds and taste colors and the like.

Synthesia. One of the coolest 'disorders' ever IMO (I'd be quite happy to have it, actually). Not just related to the blind, either. Apparently we all start off with a very very mild form of it as a baby and it lessens slightly as you mature, but it's a reason you associate words with colours and such. I find the whole thing incredibly interesting. Fun fact: Jimi Hendrix had it, and Purple Haze was called Purple Haze because the first chord he played in it made him see purple haze.

Oh so that's the name.  I was relieved to learn I'm not the only person on Earth who thinks of colors when they see numbers.  I wouldn't call it "cool" by any means though, because it feels a little weird sometimes, especially when I see bright lights and it feels like something is physically pressing on me.

Yeah, I don't really know how to describe it.  It's like the nerves that pick up light levels are cross-wired to my touch-reception, but not in any definite place.  The numbers/colors thing might be even older, and I wonder if it wasn't subliminally implanted my the musical cartoons I watched in 1st grade.  1 = white, 2 = blue, 3 = yellow, 4 = green, 5 = red, 6 = teal, 7 = purple, 8 = orange, 9 = yellow again.  Or something, it's always a little fuzzy, but I can't switch it off.

In completely unrelated news, what is this I don't even ooh cool fanart.

We have a resistor color code in electronics.

Black, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Grey, White.

With Black being 0 and so on.  It's for marking resistors and what not.

It's not ASCII talk, it's 1337 speak. Which is bad, and you should feel bad for speaking in it.

I take a stand that difference between purple and violet is negligible to an electronic person because I've never had a problem.
