I just realized. In this panel Dave has an Xbox 360, but not any normal Xbox, but the new slick verison that came out in, like, 2011. That panel was made in 2009.

Everyone be stealing tech from Hussie.

Edit: And Re-Reading Homestuck is actually quite fun. You get to see all the little stuff you missed, where all those references come from, the entirety of Act 5 Part 1...

This just confirms that Hussie is actually a time traveler. Homestuck is his biography, with the names and dates switched around. He is Dave. It's him. He uses these powers to relive each day several times, allowing him to complete impossibly many updates per day. Sometimes, he'll skip a few days to throw us off track.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I have that exact model, actually. From 2009.

Sorry, you'll have to try a bit harder :P

Nah I think I'm just going with this Theory:

This just confirms that Hussie is actually a time traveler. Homestuck is his biography, with the names and dates switched around. He is Dave. It's him. He uses these powers to relive each day several times, allowing him to complete impossibly many updates per day. Sometimes, he'll skip a few days to throw us off track.

It would certainly explain why Dave manages to be impossibly cool in the story.

Hussie hasn't posted any material in the past few days now. I need my mspa fix, so he'd better hurry up on one of his legendary infinite breaks.

Seriously though, I'm smelling an animated update.

But... Hussie is in the story. He is the author. It's him. And he interacts with the story, it's in a world different from his. He has to go through the wall to get inside.

And, and then... wait. If he is Dave, but all grown up, that must mean he is from the Beta Universe, which is now destroyed. But that would place him in the Alpha Universe, which is significantly different from our own. Which means that our Earth is located in the NEW universe they make, and is actually the third of its kind! Everything we have done is for naught! It's all been done twice before! End it all, THERE IS NO POINT

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

It also explains why SBURB hasn't (yet) been released. The Scratch delayed development significantly, apparently, since the alpha stage of development wasn't reached until 2 years and a bit after the beta would have been pre-Scratch. Presumably, we'll be getting a trailer sometime in December 2012.

EDIT: Scratches seem to result in a society better prepared for SBURB than prior to the Scratch, which explains why we went from having technology suspiciously well-suited to it to having a webcomic with millions of viewers that explains in detail several of the game mechanics, allowing us to prepare deliberately.

Fitting, the first one in is always the least powerful initially.

I wouldn't worry about it. Most of us are too old, although the people in the 13 to 15 range could have a shot. The rest of us should just prepare for death by meteor. I recommend practicing with a baseball bat.

Screw that, whoever is the time player had better take me back 14 years so I can sire a kid and die in some tragic means while they play.
