Perhaps Gamzee, as the Bard of Rage, only returns force in response to force applied against him? So far, his homicide has all been in response to another attack that happened first... the same could have been true of the Black King.

Karkat refusing to hurt or attack him might just be circumventing that by not attacking at all.

Who knows, but it's a thought.

Also, I think Cal ate Sollux.... In the circling part, Sollux is gone, but we see Cal, then Sollux's ancestor.

Actually, we pass his feet, but he never appears in the circle.

Wait, did Karkat just pull a Dog Whisperer trick? It's not as though Gamzee's rage was from a rational source, it was insanity that caused his homicidal rampage, and I have no idea how any amount of papping and hooshing would quell that sort of rage.

That is, given the fact that everyone seems to have subtle, intrinsic abilities tied to their class, it could just be now that Karkat realized his inner power... the power to pacify.

That's kind of ironic given how perpetually angry Karkat is at himself and everyone around him.
