I like the Texas belt buckle, even if I have a hard time believe Dave would consider ironic enough.  It's never mentioned in the story of course, but it comes up in fanfic all the time that Dave's from Houston, so you can only imagine what he actually sounds like when he talks.

That scared little girl is back, just in time to make everyone who wanted her to die feel bad.  I wonder how long she managed to keep rambling.  Although, that she decided against contacting John at any other point in time in what she thinks will be her last conversation leaves open a hint for a revival.  She contacted John way back in the past where she ranted about wanting to kill him, a conversation we the reader haven't seen from either of their perspectives.  Maybe she catches up after resurrecting somehow just at the right time, and handles some jealousy exactly as well as could be guessed.

Meanwhile, John had better not let Rose die for good just because he's too timid to kiss the girl, runt, we've been waiting two years for this
