Temporarily, yes. Two possibilities here though, if Dave stabs it. Either the dreamself travels as well, in which case it's doomed soon anyway (probably by Jack). Or the clone just dies when Dave stabs it.

This is all assuming Hussie doesn't pull some weird shit on us.

I knew this conversation was going to play out this way, in tone at least.  Hussie still found a way to make the mechanics even more complicated, with a Dave that "Alpha" Dave can't account for.  But I knew he'd have his reservations.  Dave is awesome in his own way, but not in the ways that he necessarily pretends.  He's still mortal, and even as versed as he is in time loops, even he's going to pause at the idea of stabbing himself.  He practically said so.

I always really enjoy segments that prove Dave isn't as rock solid cool as he acts.  He makes up for it in other ways and it makes him a more interesting character.

More like he'll find a way to do something close to what's obvious, seems more so in retrospect, but couldn't really be predicted in advance except by a lucky guess.  Like the new Unaccounted For Dave; couldn't be predicted, adds a new element to the story, sets up room for a twist in the future.

Update.  Yup, more talking.  And Hussie's getting even looser with his own rules.  Apparently, you don't even actually have to actively "do" something to create an offshoot timeline, they just exist as a matter of course, like some Schrodinger's Quantum Stock-Happenstance Exchange.
