Here's what I think about the symbol over Bec's head.

Future Tavros. Remember that they can apply their abilities to any point on the timeline.

So future Tavros is either convinced, or mind controlled, but we have no idea how far in the future this future Tavros could be.

But my guess is the "just one catch" is vriska not giving him a choice.

As much as I'd like to think we're getting close to the point where Tavros will utterly snap under Vriska's abuse and do somthing crazy and vengence-filled, Beware The Nice Ones moments seem to be absent from Homestuck.

Really, I don't see why he should. Something crazy and vengeance-filled would maybe get him Vriska's respect, but what I think he should do is basically nothing. Ignore Vriska. If she threatens to (or does) mind-control him, tell someone. Terezi, or Aradia, or Kanaya, okay maybe not Kanaya, but there's loads of trolls who can keep Vriska in check. Unlike Tavros, who can be mind-controlled, and will definitely lose in a fight against her. I think refusing to apologize for being a cripple is the correct level of badass he can safely handle. Something crazy and vengeance-filled will just end up killing Tavros or Becsprite or Rose's dream self.

We'll see.  He was trying for a few seconds there, or yes he was trying.  Problem is, on top of being spineless, he's supposedly a slow typist while Vriska bangs keys at warp speed, so he can never get a word in edgewise (since all chatlogs are zero-sum affairs where it's apparently physically impossible for two people to type over each other).

Funny, now that I think about it.  I've got a cousin w/ husband who are a lot like that when talking.
