In the later stages of the game, I wish to build one. Can they actually be attacked?

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

That is assuming the game reaches that point...

They can be attacked, they are probably vulnerable to planet or star destroyers, and they can certainly be bombarded and invaded just like any other planet, but you can fit a prodigious quantity of defences on one...

Indeed. I have never actually tried to destroy one, since I usually build them, but you can most certainly build countermeasures to the weapons indicated on the Buuthandi. In all honesty, I do not expect the game to reach that level in any reasonable timeframe without both an incredibly overpowered research program and longer, more extensive gaming sessions, which won't happen due to the premise. Woo!

Or perhaps y'all could play the game and PM scripted actions for longer sessions... Hmmm? I know it would be easy for the research companies. Obviously we do need to know the current techs to decide, but otherwise... :).

I'm going to try and get an update done next weekend. I'm kinda busy right now, so, y'know. But I'm never gonna give this up, and I'm never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you. Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye. Never gonna tell a lie, and hurt you.

Although in space empires V constructed worlds occupy multiple spaces, so defending them with planet-based defences is easy because they can hold a vast number and can use them anywhere, but defending them with ships or bases is actually quite difficult and pretty much impractical. So long-range defence against blockades relies almost exclusively on fighters...

Okay, guys. Sometime tommorow, there should be an update. A lot of stuff to keep track of. Hmm. I don't think I'll close the game off or start a waiting list yet, though. Just keep track of stuff in a word file or summat. Doesn't matter.

Also, if chaps would refrain from discussing techs we havn't discovered yet or aliens we have not encountered, or features I have not yet covered...that would be nice.

No pictures in this update because nothing visually interesting happened.

Prowler company purged the Empier research outpost of all sons of Cocytus presence today, according to it’s spokesman. The flagship came within early morning and launched its attack. Armed marines stormed the complex and took the yawning, coffee-sipping scientists by surprise. Martin Empier is quoted as saying “What the hell do you think you are doing in here you hooligans, get out of my please point that gun somewhere else, I have rights, and ace lawyers that can put you away for good no don’t touch that that’s part of the colonization project NOOOOOOOooooo look what you’ve done YOU FOOLS, you’ve broken the hyper-transmodulation unit and now the whole base is going to blow. Well, no. Actually, it’s just going to snow lightly in here for a minute. Who set the sprinkler off?” Rumors that the Prowler Company made off with data stored in the Empier compound vaults are considered falsified until proven otherwise. Apparently, before the purge was finished a bomb was detonated inside the flagship of the Prowler co. Most of the flight staff was killed in the explosion, and a new crew is in training.

Construction on Jahannam is nearing a close, and Captain Woose will soon be free to claim a government issue frigate. Apparently, the designs for a government issue utility ship designed to haul cargo and launch and recover satellites are in the works. The Emperor mentioned at a party that he had already approved a new captain to pilot one of these new craft.

Honest Boskii has mentioned in his recent net’-ads that a new kind of engine, Contra-terrene, may be available in under a year. As any theoretical physicist knows, a Contra-terrene engine is contrary to any theory remotely terran. This leads to suspicion that Honest Boskii may not be *Gasp* Honest. However, it has yet to been seen if there’s any truth to the matter.

The secret, joint colony ship effort has been launched without incident, and has slipped through the warp point with no trouble. The government did not glean any information about it’s creation, and thanks to an expert hacking job by an enterprising Empier employee, the satellite network the government uses to monitor traffic was rendered completely blind to it’s passing. The sons of Cocytus did not interfere in any way with the ship. Captain RAM was chosen by Empier representatives to pilot the expedition.

Everything seems to be moving along nicely.  We encounter any alien hostiles yet?
